Recently I have started studying the properties of low dimensional magnetic materials by solving the MODEL QUANTUM SPIN HAMILTONIAN.

I am finding difficulties in formulating the model quantum spin Hamiltonian by seeing the crystal structure. Can somebody suggest me some direction, or examples or Literature for same. I will greatly appreciate your help ?

    $\begingroup$ You've identified one of those questions that is far more complicated and difficult than it looks at first glance. It's not necessarily easy to look at the crystal structure and immediately derive the spin interactions. Do you know anything else about the system? For example: is it a ferromagnet, antiferromagnet, or disordered? are the bond lengths uniform? Are the electrons mobile or localized? What is the effective spin moment on each site (S=1/2, 1, etc)? $\endgroup$ – taciteloquence Jan 12 at 16:17
